How to finance studies at the WUE University?
There are several ways to do that. Choose the form of financial assistance which is the best for you.
Social bursary
A social bursary is awarded to a student in a difficult financial situation. Social bursaries may be applied for by students of all years of full-time and part-time undergraduate and graduate studies, whose monthly income per one member of the family does not exceed a specified amount. This amount shall be determined in accordance with the rules laid down in the Act of 28 November 2003 on Family Benefits. A full-time student in a difficult financial situation may receive a social bursary in the increased amount to allow for living in a student dormitory or a facility other than a student dormitory, if the daily commuting from the place of residence to the University would make impossible or significantly impede his or her studying.
The Rector’s scholarship
It is worth being a top student… The Rector’s Scholarship for the best students will be granted to a student who will obtain a high average grade during the given year of studies or who will have scientific, artistic or sporting achievements in international or national competitions, but who will also take an active part in conferences organized by the University and actively participate in cultural events organized by the WUE or the University’s partners, as well as will care for and assist foreigners starting their first year of study with us.
Special bursary for disabled persons
A special bursary for the disabled may be granted to any student who submits an application together with a certificate of disability confirmed by a competent authority. Many WUE University students receive several hundred zlotys every month, thanks to which the WUE University students have additional funds which they can allocate for any purpose.
Special financial assistance grant
Special financial assistance may be granted to a student twice per one academic year. It is granted to persons who found themselves temporarily in a difficult financial situation as a result of some misfortune.
Student loan
The most important advantage of the student loans is that they do not have to be repaid during the study period, and the interest for this period is paid by the Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego with funds from the state budget. The payment of instalments does not start until two years after graduation. The loaners enjoy full freedom in spending the funds. This is a preferential loan with a very low interest rate. Student loans may be disbursed during the entire period of study, for 10 months per year. It is to be repaid back in a period of time twice as long as the disbursement period. Ask your bank for the details of the loan.
In the academic year 2019/2020, the monthly amount paid as a social bursary was approximately PLN 1,500, as the Rector’s scholarship – up to PLN 400, and as a special bursary for the disabled persons – up to PLN 600.
